Stargate Finance is a composable liquidity transport protocol designed to facilitate the transfer of native assets across different blockchain networks. Built on the LayerZero interoperability protocol, Stargate aims to address the blockchain trilemma of creating a bridge that is unified, native, and instant. Its primary function is to enable users and dapps to move assets between chains like Ethereum, BNB Chain, Avalanche, Polygon, Arbitrum, and Optimism without the need for wrapped tokens. This approach seeks to mitigate the risks associated with wrapped assets, such as de-pegging and smart contract vulnerabilities, which have been a significant concern in the DeFi space. The core of Stargate's architecture is its unified liquidity pools and the Delta (螖) algorithm. Instead of fragmented, pairwise pools, Stargate utilizes a single pool of liquidity for each supported asset, shared across all connected chains. The Delta algorithm is a resource balancing mechanism that manages these pools, enabling instant guaranteed finality for cross-chain transactions by ensuring sufficient liquidity is always available on the destination chain. This design allows for high capital efficiency, as liquidity providers can stake assets in a single-sided pool and earn fees from all incoming transfers, regardless of their origin chain. The native token of the protocol is STG. The STG token serves as a governance and utility token. Holders can stake their STG to receive veSTG (voter-escrowed STG), which grants them voting rights in the Stargate DAO (Decentralized Autonomous Organization). This allows the community to participate in decisions regarding the protocol's development and management. Furthermore, veSTG holders are eligible to receive a share of the protocol's transaction fees. Users can also engage in yield farming by providing liquidity to the protocol's pools and staking their LP tokens to earn rewards in STG, contributing to the overall liquidity and security of the ecosystem.
