Bitget Lists Stock Perpetual Contracts for EIDO, STM, and EQT

Bitget has expanded its crypto derivatives offering with three new stock perpetual contracts linked to EIDO, STM, and EQT. The products are settled in USDT, support leverage of up to 20×, and are available for trading around the clock.

The addition brings Bitget’s total number of stock contract markets to 382, further connecting traditional equity exposure with the continuous-access infrastructure commonly associated with digital asset markets.

Three New Markets Connect Equities With Crypto Derivatives

The newly listed contracts reference three different types of publicly traded assets:

  • EIDO: The iShares MSCI Indonesia ETF, which provides exposure to a basket of Indonesian equities.
  • STM: The stock of STMicroelectronics, a major semiconductor manufacturer serving the automotive, industrial, and electronics sectors.
  • EQT: The stock of EQT Corporation, a US-based natural gas producer.

While the underlying references come from conventional financial markets, their perpetual contracts are delivered through a crypto exchange environment. Traders do not directly purchase the underlying ETF or shares when opening a derivative position. Instead, they speculate on price movements through a contract whose profit and loss are settled in USDT.

This structure gives market participants a way to access equity-linked price exposure without relying on traditional brokerage hours or directly holding the underlying securities.

Why Stock Perpetual Contracts Are Gaining Attention

Stock perpetual contracts reflect the broader evolution of crypto exchanges into multi-asset trading platforms. Digital asset users are increasingly looking for exposure to global markets while preserving the flexibility of crypto-native infrastructure, including stablecoin settlement and continuous trading.

Unlike conventional stock markets, perpetual contracts generally do not have a fixed expiration date. Positions can remain open as long as margin requirements are maintained. This feature makes them operationally similar to perpetual futures commonly used in cryptocurrency markets.

The addition of EIDO, STM, and EQT also broadens the range of market narratives available to traders:

  • Regional equity exposure through Indonesian companies represented by EIDO
  • Semiconductor and technology demand through STM
  • Energy and natural gas market sensitivity through EQT

These markets may respond to different factors, including interest-rate expectations, economic growth, commodity prices, corporate earnings, and geopolitical developments. As a result, stock-linked contracts can provide diversification, but they also introduce new forms of market risk.

USDT Settlement and 24/7 Access

The new contracts use USDT as the settlement asset. For crypto traders, USDT settlement can simplify collateral management because positions are accounted for in a widely used dollar-denominated stablecoin rather than in the underlying stock or local currency.

The products also support trading throughout the week. This is one of the clearest differences between exchange-based perpetual contracts and traditional equity markets, which usually operate according to fixed opening hours and market holidays.

However, continuous availability does not mean that the underlying markets are equally active at all times. During periods when the relevant stock exchange is closed, price discovery may depend more heavily on index movements, related instruments, market makers, and broader macroeconomic expectations. Traders should therefore pay close attention to liquidity, spreads, funding costs, and the potential for price gaps when traditional markets reopen.

Leverage Can Increase Both Opportunity and Risk

Bitget’s new stock perpetual contracts support leverage of up to 20×. Leverage allows traders to control a larger notional position with less initial margin, but it also magnifies losses.

For example, a relatively small adverse price movement can significantly reduce a trader’s margin when a high-leverage position is used. If the available margin falls below the platform’s maintenance requirement, the position may be partially or fully liquidated.

Before trading, users should consider:

  1. Position size relative to total account equity
  2. Initial and maintenance margin requirements
  3. Funding fees and other trading costs
  4. Liquidity and spread conditions during different market sessions
  5. Liquidation price and available risk controls
  6. News-driven volatility in sectors such as semiconductors and energy

The US Securities and Exchange Commission’s investor education resources provide useful background on how margin can amplify both gains and losses. Although the specific mechanics of a crypto exchange contract may differ from traditional securities margin, the core risk principle remains relevant.

What This Means for the Digital Asset Market

The expansion of stock perpetual contracts highlights a growing convergence between traditional finance and blockchain-based trading infrastructure. Stablecoins provide a settlement layer, while crypto exchanges offer global access, programmable market infrastructure, and near-continuous availability.

At the same time, these products should not be confused with tokenized stocks or on-chain ownership of real-world securities. A perpetual contract generally provides synthetic price exposure rather than voting rights, dividends, or legal ownership of the referenced asset. Users should review the contract specifications and jurisdictional availability before trading.

For the broader blockchain industry, this trend demonstrates how crypto platforms are becoming gateways to multiple forms of market exposure. It also reinforces the importance of transparency around pricing sources, contract terms, liquidation mechanisms, and the relationship between derivatives and their underlying markets.

A Practical Security Checklist for Traders

Trading security begins before a position is opened. Users should enable strong account protection, avoid sharing recovery credentials, verify URLs carefully, and separate long-term crypto holdings from funds allocated to active trading.

A hardware wallet such as OneKey can help protect self-custodied crypto assets and signing credentials through offline key storage. It does not eliminate the market risks of leveraged derivatives or replace an exchange’s margin system, but it can provide an additional layer of security for assets that are not being used as trading collateral.

The launch of EIDO, STM, and EQT expands the range of stock-linked instruments available to crypto traders. With 382 stock contract markets now supported, Bitget is positioning its derivatives platform at the intersection of digital assets and global financial markets. As access becomes broader, disciplined risk management and a clear understanding of contract mechanics will be just as important as market analysis.
