It gained massive traction on Douyin in China (hundreds of thousands to millions of likes and saves, and billions of views), and it has also performed strongly on TikTok overseas. WTDD is a meme that evolved over six years and exploded this year—making it more than a short-lived trend. That’s why its momentum and staying power are so strong, especially as a rare meme with real popularity in both the East and the West.
