What is Amulet V2?

Amulet Protocol is a decentralized risk protection protocol developed to enhance security for users within the Web3 ecosystem. Functioning as a risk management solution, it addresses several critical vulnerabilities prevalent in the blockchain space. In an industry where smart contract exploits and market volatility pose significant threats to digital assets, Amulet provides a framework for users to mitigate potential financial losses from on-chain activities. The protocol offers coverage for a range of specific risks. This includes protection against smart contract vulnerabilities, which safeguards users' funds from exploits or bugs in the code of various DeFi platforms. Another key offering is stablecoin de-peg protection, designed to cover losses if a specific stablecoin loses its parity with its underlying asset. For participants in Proof-of-Stake (PoS) networks, Amulet also provides coverage against validator slashing penalties, which can occur when a validator node violates protocol rules. Amulet Protocol's architecture is built on a two-sided marketplace. Users can purchase protection for their assets on supported platforms by paying a premium. On the other side, liquidity is provided by users who stake assets into underwriting pools. These stakers earn yield derived from the premiums paid by coverage buyers, creating a decentralized capital pool to back the protection policies. The protocol leverages a model known as Protocol-Controlled Underwriting (PCU) to manage its capital reserves and underwriting capacity, aiming for sustainable growth and solvency. Initially built on the Solana network, Amulet Protocol is expanding to become a multi-chain platform, extending its risk protection services across different blockchain ecosystems. By providing these on-chain tools, Amulet serves as a fundamental layer for risk management in decentralized finance (DeFi), allowing users to engage with digital assets and new protocols with an added layer of security.
