What is YieldNest?

YieldNest is a liquid restaking protocol built on the Ethereum network that operates within the EigenLayer ecosystem. It is designed to allow users to participate in the process of restaking Ethereum (ETH) and Liquid Staking Tokens (LSTs) to earn rewards. Users can deposit assets like ETH, stETH, or rETH into the YieldNest platform. In return for their deposit, they receive ynETH, which is the protocol's native Liquid Restaking Token (LRT). The ynETH token represents a claim on the underlying deposited assets and any accumulated staking and restaking rewards. A primary function of ynETH is to provide liquidity; holders can trade, lend, or use it in various decentralized finance (DeFi) applications while continuing to earn rewards from their staked position. This addresses the issue of capital being locked during the staking and restaking period. The yield generated for ynETH holders comes from a combination of sources. It includes the base rewards from standard Ethereum proof-of-stake validation and the additional rewards distributed by the Actively Validated Services (AVSs) that are secured through EigenLayer's restaking mechanism. To address the risks associated with restaking, such as slashing penalties resulting from validator misbehavior, YieldNest delegates the staked assets to a selected group of professional, institutional-grade node operators. This curated approach to operator selection is a central part of its risk management framework, aiming to provide a more secure environment for users' assets. By simplifying the restaking process and providing a liquid token, YieldNest offers a way for users to engage with the emerging EigenLayer ecosystem and its associated yield opportunities.
